Profile: Dr Barrett-Naylor has been working in the field of mental health for over a decade and is a qualified Clinical Psychologist registered with the HCPC and is a full member of the Association of Clinical Psychologists-UK (ACP-UK). She has specialised in working in child and adolescent services and has particular interests in the areas of attachment, developmental trauma, looked after children and youth offending. She has worked with children, young people and adults with a range of difficulties including complex and developmental trauma, physical health problems, and attachment and relationship difficulties. Her work with youth offending services also means she has experience of county lines and sexually harmful behaviour cases and Dr Barrett-Naylor has worked with a range of professional services, such as social care and residential children’s homes. She currently works within the NHS in two part-time roles; one with children and adolescents and the other in an adult community setting. Dr Barrett-Naylor’s experience with individuals across the lifespan gives her the appropriate skills and abilities to complete the full range of assessments for children, adolescents and adults/parents as an expert witness in family and criminal law.
